Tap numbered survey points to keep them. Your amber shortcut must stay close to the dotted trail, using only the waypoint allowance. Start and finish always count.

Why these turns matter
Each straight shortcut replaces a stretch of the original trail. We measure the farthest skipped point from that shortcut. Keeping a sharp bend usually saves more error than keeping a point along a straight stretch. Your goal is to fit both the distance limit and the waypoint budget.
The optional suggestion uses the Ramer–Douglas–Peucker simplification algorithm from Simplify.js. Some trails allow more than one solution. Repeat a trail to solve without suggestions, or try a new survey.
